The intense training of combat athletes requires specific nutritional support to maximize performance and recovery. Nutrient ratios of protein-to-carbs-to-fats, is critical as is the exact timing of intake to maximize muscle performance, endurance and overall "gas tank." These elements will be discussed in detail and in addition, there will be an in depth look at which sport nutrition supplements are most applicable for athletes training in BJJ or MMA.

Strength and Endurance are becoming bigger factors for success in combat athletes, but all too often the "strength and conditioning" programs are one-size-fits-all and or sub-optimal at best. Pure strength training, aerobic conditioning and anaerobic conditioning must all be addressed individually and in cycles as athletes prepare for upcoming events or overall improvement. These factors will be presented individually and in terms of developing an overall program to make combat athletes be able to fight harder, longer with more strength and more success.
