BIOGRAPHY:
Tomm's personal story is an inspiration to many. Tomm started life as a chubby child, often teased by his schoolmates for being overweight. During soccer games he was teased for his inability to keep up with the ball. Sick of the taunting, Tomm started dieting and lost a lot of weight. Tomm was faster on the soccer field, but then found when he caught up to the ball, he couldn't kick it for a decent amount of distance.
Help arrived for Tomm in the form of his brother in law, who got him started lifting weights when he was 14. Although he hated training in the beginning, he soon saw positive results and this encouraged him to learn more about training and proper nutrition. Tomm soon realized that by using this knowledge he had acquired, he could control the appearance of his own body. Unfortunately, his classmates teased him about his bodybuilding and called him "Arnie" after Arnold Schwarzenegger. Tomm didn't mind this because Arnold Schwarzenegger was his role model and he had learned not to care what other people thought of him, instead he concentrated on developing his own positive self-image.
At age 17, after two full years of intense training and following a proper nutrition plan, Tomm was asked to participate in the Luxembourg Bodybuilding Championship, which he won. That victory was followed by a string of competitive bodybuilding successes. Tomm placed in the top five most of the competitions he entered. Some of his most notable victories are being named the German Junior Heavyweight Overall Champion in 2000, winning the award of Excellence for Physical Development at the Junior World Championship in Dubai in 2000, and placing second in the Men's International Munich Championship in 2001. Weeks after Tomm moved to the United States, he was named the overall winner of the Muscle Beach 2002 Open Invitational. These competitions, along with the invaluable support of his family, got Tomm on track to be the fitness professional he is today.
Tomm's career has opened up a lot of unique opportunities which he feels very blessed to have had. He has traveled around the world participating in several bodybuilding and fitness competitions, met several interesting people, and helped many achieve their own health and fitness goals via personal training and sharing his knowledge of health and fitness in print and on television worldwide.
Career highlights for Tomm include a photo shoot for Italian Vogue with Pamela Anderson, shot by renown photographer David LaChapelle; frequent appearances in various comedy sketches on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno; and roles in major film productions, including a lead role in the film "Theogony". Tomm also starred in The Underground Bounty Hunter, an interactive, web-based adventure game produced by Darryl Quarles. Most recently, Tomm starred in the film "The Interview". |
