Jan Schroeder, PhD is a professor of Kinesiology, specializing in Fitness, at California State University. Dr. Schroeder has authored over 25 research and applied articles in the area of exercise physiology/fitness. Her current line of research specializes in trends within the fitness industry such as programming and equipment trends as well as compensation trends for fitness professionals. She has also presented over 50 research and practical sessions at the national and international level. Dr. Schroeder's expertise within the fitness industry is well-sought after as evidenced by her consulting role to many fitness professional organizations including IDEA, AFAA, ACE, ACSM, Guthy-Renker, and HoopGirl™.
Dr. Schroeder helps to develop curriculum for workshops and national certifying exams, writes articles, and conducts research projects as well as provides business counsel to these organizations. Dr. Schroeder is also a certified group exercise instructor, through AFAA and NASM and holder of 20 specialty certificates, who teaches weekly in the private sector.
