My History
I left Brazil in 1999 and traveled to Boston, Ma. with a dream to
become a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu world champion. At that time I was ranked
as a purple belt under Jose Marcello (Brazilian Top Team),after 2
consecutive podiums in Pan Americans and many NAGA(North American
Grappling Association)Championships,I was promoted by Ze Marcello to
a brown belt and also under his tutelage we opened BTT(Boston Brazilian Top Team).
In 2004 I moved to Florida and joined the American Top Team and had
the pleasure to train with the biggest names in the sport, which
helped me improve my skills as a competitor and as coach.
I had the privilege to assist many fighters specially wrestlers, Judo,
and MMA fighters to improve their BJJ skills.
While training and under the supervision of Ricardo Liborio I won 2
gold medals at the 2007 and 2008 Pan American Championships.
In 2009 my biggest dream came true and I won the 2009 Worlds Nogi
Championship; not just for my weight class, but also the absolute
weight class. At that time I was awarded a black belt under Master
Ricardo Liborio.
After I became a world champion I was invited to be a member of the
Brazilian National Team and to compete at the World Grappling
Championships.
While training at American Top Team I had the opportunity to help a
lot of professional and amateur athletes, but my true passion and
pleasure was be able to help Ricardo Liborio with the kids. I feel
that the kids are the future of the sport and I also have two
beautiful kids that love BJJ too. I believe that one of the best
rewards in life is to have them be inspired by us, having them learn
from us, and to have the new generation carrying the tradition and
philosophy of the sport.
At the end of 2010 I was a Silver medalist at the Worlds Championships
as a black belt and also invited and engaged by Carlson Gracie Jr. to
take over the Brazilian Jiu Jtsu program in the Temecula and Murrieta
area, which was struggling for growth three years. After eight months
the number of students doubled and I was able to help several athletes
to become World and Pan American champions.
Today I continue my work in the area of Temecula and Murrieta. God has
created an opportunity for me to develop my own work, today I share my
techniques that I have acquired over the years of training and
competing at Bob Chaney Martial Arts located at 40385 Murrieta Hot
Springs Rd , Murrieta, CA 92563.
