BMR Sports Nutrition was created by European body-builder and fitness star Binais Begovic. During his career Binais tried every supplement on the market to try to improve his physique and optimize his workouts but could not find the "ideal formula" to achieve the results he desired. He found that most products on the market either contained too little of the active ingredient or sub pair quality ingredients.

Binais collaborated with researchers and spent a significant amount of time researching the scientific data. He also interviewed athletes, and tried different formulations with the help of his manufacturing and research team. His products were developed over years of personal experience. Binais wanted products that could be used by all athletes to perform better, to recover faster, and to achieve their ultimate goals. The result was BMR Sports Nutrition.

Binais uses his own products to achieve his physical and workout goals. BMR products were first released in 2009 to limited customers and Binais' personal friends and chosen professional athletes.
