LA TEMPTATION BOOTH ALL DAY SATURDAY
HISTORY:
The Lingerie Bowl concept came to founder Mitchell Mortaza back in 2003 when he was at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego for the Super Bowl which featured some very impressive musical acts at halftime such as Gwen Stefani, sting, and Shania Twain. However, despite these incredible performers people were very visibly leaving their expensive seats at halftime. Witnessing the mass amount of people exiting at the stadium made Mortaza think if this number of people are tuning out halftime at the stadium, then what is happening around the world at half time and how can we capture that audience on television's biggest day? Among the many disbelievers, in 2004 he did something that had been attempted unsuccessfully many times and that was to capture 30 minutes of televisions viewing day. After several seasons of producing the Lingerie Bowl, Mortaza believed he could build more of a year round league based brand. The LFL development took nearly 36 months aggressively developing 10 inaugural season teams. The LFL now includes 12 teams, mini-camps, training camps, and a 20 week regular season.
The Los Angeles Temptation are back to back World Champions winning the Lingerie Bowl in 2010 and 2011. They are currently in place to win their third consecutive world title on February 5th.
BUSINESSWEEK, Paul Wachter (NOV 2010) - 'The Lingerie Football League is a rarity in sports-a women's professional league that's actually growing.'
